Cuban and Dominican Foreign Ministers Hold Official Talks

Havana, June 3 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez held a meeting on Monday with his Dominican counterpart, H.E. Mr. Andrés Navarro García, at Havana's Foreign Ministry building.

During the official talks, both ministers assessed the good situation of the bilateral relations and reiterated the willingness to develop and strengthen ties between the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Both parties exchanged opinions about issues of regional and multilateral interest.

The Dominican official ratified the interest of his country in strengthening economic and commercial relations and cooperation with Cuba. For his part, the Cuban foreign minister praised the favorable votes of the Dominican Republic at the United Nations in the fight against the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade the United States imposes on Cuba.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Joaquín Gerónimo, Ambassador to Cuba; Julio Santana, Director General of Ethics and Institutional Transparency, and Iván Ogando, head for Economic Affairs and Commercial Negotiations.

The Cuban side was represented by the Director General of Latin America and the Caribbean, Manuel Aguilera de la Paz; Director General for Multilateral Affairs and International Law, Pedro Núñez Mosquera, and the Director for Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean, Lissette Bárbara Pérez Pérez, among other officials from Cuba's Foreign Ministry.
