Greeleyville, July 1 (RHC)-- Another Black church has been set on fire in the United States, bringing the number of African-American churches on fire to seven in the past ten days.

Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Greeleyville, South Carolina burned on Tuesday night. The Clarendon County Fire Department said the incident had no injuries and the fire was under control.

The church was burned to the ground once again by white supremacist group Ku Klux Klan members in 1995.

Similar incidents were also reported in the past days after a young white man shot dead nine black worshipers at the historic black church Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal in Charleston, South Carolina two weeks ago.

The other fire incidents happened in Knoxville, Tenn., Macon, Ga., and Gibson County, in Tennessee, Charlotte, N.C., Elyria, Ohio, and Tallahassee, Fla., and Warrenville, S.C.

Officials said three of those fires have been ruled arson. One was determined to be caused by a falling branch and faulty wiring and they are investigating the others.
