Baghdad, October 13 (RHC)-- At least six people have lost their lives and more than a dozen sustained injuries in a spate of bomb attacks in and around Iraq’s violence-plagued capital, according to the country's security and medical authorities.
A security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said two civilians were killed and eight others wounded when a roadside bomb went off close to a restaurant in Baghdad’s eastern neighborhood of al-Mashtal on Monday, the Arabic-language al-Baghdadia satellite television network reported. Security forces immediately cordoned off the site of the attack, and ambulance workers ferried the wounded to a nearby hospital.
Additionally, a civilian was killed when a bomb explosion ripped through the Radwaniyah district in western Baghdad. Three people were also injured in the terrorist attack.
Separately, a bomb exploded in the town of Taji, located 30 kilometers north of Baghdad, killing two civilians and injuring five others.
