Bombings in Iraqi Capital Kill At Least Ten

Baghdad, December 5 (RHC)-- Iraqi security and medical officials say at least ten people have lost their lives and nearly three dozen others sustained injuries in a spate of bomb attacks in and around the capital, Baghdad.

A security source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said two civilians were killed and nine others injured when a bomb exploded close to a popular café near the Diyala Bridge in southeastern Baghdad on Saturday, the Arabic-language al-Baghdadia satellite television network reported. A civilian also died when an improvised explosive device attached beneath his car went off in a western neighborhood of Baghdad.

On Friday, a roadside bomb exploded in another neighborhood of the Iraqi capital, leaving two police officers dead and another injured. Separately, a bomb went off near a medical facility in a neighborhood of southern Baghdad, leaving a civilian dead and eight others injured.

Earlier in the day, a civilian lost his life and five others sustained injuries when an improvised explosive device went off near a garage in southwestern Baghdad.
