Buenos Aires, Feb 23 (RHC) The Union of Workers in Argentina will protest this Wednesday in response to the layoffs the government of Mauricio Macri has enacted.
In statement to local media, Oscar de Isasi, general secretary of the union in Buenos Aires province, deplored the fact that the national government wants the workers to pay for its actions and protect the business sector.
De Isasi said the protests are in demand of better salaries and reinstating those laidoff. This is the first strike since the new government adopted a protocol to repress demonstrations, protests and public marches blocking the streets.
