La Paz, Mar 4 (RHC) UN planning experts arrived in Colombia to pave the way for supervision of the bilateral cease-fire the government and guerrilla will decide on together.
The UN will coordinate and finance a political mission with Latin American and Caribbean observers, to verify the laying down of arms and the guerrilla's handing over of weapons, once the ceasefire is officially declared.
The UN delegation will join a tripartite body together with representatives of the government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP), now working on an agreement to settle the over five-decade long conflict in Colombia.
