Quito, April 29 (RHC)-- The United Nation's Children Fund (UNICEF) is working to get Ecuadorian children left without access to education because of the earthquake, back to learning.  More than 280 schools have been damaged by the earthquake that hit Ecuador on April 16, resulting in about 120,000 children being left without education, UNICEF announced Thursday.

UNICEF is working with the government of President Rafael Correa to ensure provisions be provided so that children can continue their education.  They are especially working in the worst affected areas of Pedernales, Jama and Manta.  Their plan is to install 50 temporary spaces for 20,000 children.  The UN agency will also distribute 700 "school in a box" kits that will help benefit 60,000 children.
