Lima, June 3 (RHC)-- Just days ahead of Sunday’s presidential runoff in Peru, the gap between conservative front runner Keiko Fujimori and her neo-liberal rival Pedro Pablo Kuczynski is closing, with the two candidates virtually tied according to new polls reported by Reuters on Friday.

Pollster GFK has found that the two are neck in neck with less than one percent between their support among voters.  Fujimori, daughter of jailed former dictator Alberto Fujimori, very narrowly leads with 50.3 percent while Kuczynski, also known as PPK, sits at 49.7 percent.

Meanwhile, another survey by Datum International also showed that the gap is narrowing between the two candidates toward a statistical tie with Fujimori at 52.1 percent and PPK at 47.9 percent.  Compared to the previous Datum poll, the most recent data saw Fujimori fall 0.8 percent while former Economy Minister PPK rose by the same amount.
