Havana, October 29 (RHC-PL), -- The vice president of the Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas, met with Eric Jacob, Swiss assistant secretary of State for Economic Promotion, Granma newspaper reported on Saturday.
According to Granma, Jacob heads a delegation of officials and business people who are here to participate in the Havana International Fair, FIHAV 2016.
The Swiss entrepreneurs are representing the sectors of construction and infrastructure, energy, medical technology and international trade.
They met on Friday with their Cuban peers at the 3rd Annual Meeting of the Cuba-Switzerland Business Committee in Havana.
During the meeting, Cabrisas explained some details of the Cuban economy and the economic and social priorities to be developed on the island.
He also talked about the opportunities that the Foreign Investment Law and the Mariel Special Development Zone offer to the Swiss business sector.
According to Granma, Cabrisas, who is also Cuban minister of Economy and Planning, referred to the economic and trade relations between the two countries, after the restructuring of Cuba's debt with the Paris Club.
He also highlighted the role played by the Swiss Agency for Cooperation, which has been developing an extensive program of bilateral cooperation projects in Cuba.
