Havana, July 8 (RHC), -- The eleventh International Convention on Environment and Development, attended by more than 1,200 specialists from 31 countries, closed its doors on Friday in Havana.
Dr. Maritza García, president of the Environment Agency of Cuba, stressed that the intense debates of these five days reaffirmed the importance of using integrated scientific results, strengthening environmental policy and law, raising public awareness and achieving better and rational use of natural resources to address climate change.
The specialist stressed that today, more than ever, it is urgent to undertake transcendental changes, where the only alternative is to build more fair societies, putting the advances of science and technology at the service of the defense of the planet and human dignity.
