Geneva, September 26 (RHC)-- The Cuban mission before UN bodies in Geneva advocated Tuesday total nuclear disarmament.
In a communique issued on occasion of September 26th --International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons-- the Cuban diplomatic mission called for coordinated, international actions to raise awareness about the threat that nuclear weapons pose to the very survival of our species on Planet Earth.
The document recalls that Latin America and the Caribbean was the first world region declared a nuclear-weapon-free zone under the Treaty of Tlatelolco. It also calls for a UN high-level international conference on nuclear disarmament.
