Washington, November 17 (RHC)-- The second meeting of the U.S.-Cuba Working Group on Trade Flows and Protection of People was held Thursday in Washington D.C.

The meeting was in the framework of law enforcement exchanges between official delegations of both countries, aimed at coordinating actions to fight transnational crimes.

A release by the Cuban Foreign Ministry said the meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual respect and professionalism.

The Cuban delegation was made up of representatives from the Ministries of the Interior, Foreign Affairs and Transportation, the General Customs of the Republic of Cuba and the Institute of Civil Aeronautics, while the US delegation was made up of representatives of the Departments of State, Homeland Security, and Justice.

During the meeting, the two delegations reviewed the actions implemented thus far and agreed on the importance of bilateral cooperation in this area toward ensuring that the flows of persons and trade take place in a safe and orderly environment.

Both parties agreed to continue these technical exchanges in the future.
