Dublin, January 18 (RHC-Minrex)-- Motivated to expand their knowledge about Cuba and the figure of Fidel Castro Ruz, a group of students from "St Clares" High School, in Manorhamilton, in the County of Leitrim, headed by Professor Brendan Greene, visited the Cuban Embassy in Ireland.
After watching a brief documentary about Cuba, the Ambassador gave an explanation about the national education system, documented with images and statistics of the different levels and types of education.
Later there was an exchange, in which the Irish students received detailed information about the technological, vocational, arts, sports initiation schools, as well as higher education. In this last area, Cuba's assistance to other countries was of interest, for the training of doctors and other professionals.
The students were interested in learning details of the history of Cuba, José Martí and especially Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, his contribution to education and other spheres of social impact.
They were also interested in sports, especially boxing, and Cuban culture, as well as details about the climate and nature.
