Havana, Feb 20 (RHC)-- Cuban vice president Marino Murillo met Monday in Havana with Robert Kaliňák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Slovak Republic.
During the exchange, the Cuban official and the Slovak visitor addressed topics related to public administration, including the optimization of processes and structures and the possibilities of applying efficient management systems. They agreed on the importance of further strengthening cooperation ties and develop joint projects in sectors of common interest.
Also on Monday, the Slovak deputy prime minister was received by Cuba's Minister of Economy and Planning Ricardo Cabrisas, with whom he reviewed the state of bilateral economic and financial relations.
Participating on the Slovak side were Finance Minister, Peter Kazimir, and Health Minister, Tomás Drucker, who underscored what they described as the satisfactory the implementation of existing bilateral agreements in the energy and health sectors.
They referred specifically to the progress in the reconstruction of block six of the Mariel thermal power plant, and the Felton thermoelectric plant, as well as results in the use of the Cuban medication Heberprot-P to treat Slovak diabetic patients, who suffer diabetic foot ulcers.
Also participating on the Cuban side were Minister of Finance and Prices, Lina Pedraza Rodríguez, Minister of Energy and Mines, Alfredo López Valdés and Deputy Minister of Public Health, Marcia Cobas Ruiz.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides signed the Action Plan for bilateral economic cooperation for the current year, 2018.
