Havana, March 9 (ACN)-- Havana will host the 21st Agro-industrial Food Fair, FIAGROP, from March 19th through the 25th, with the participation of 226 exhibitors from 18 countries.
Ignacio Caraballo Barreto, Director for Promotion and Events of the Agricultural and Animal Fair Company, told the press in Havana that the number of participants grew considerably compared to the previous year. He did not rule out the possibility of more representatives.
Among the nations, confirming their participation with large delegations are Spain, Germany, Mexico, Panama, Holland, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, Guatemala, Costa Rica, United States and New Zealand.
The Cuban official said at the fair the country will present its updated portfolio of opportunities for foreign investment in the agricultural and animal sector.
The event's program includes conferences on meat production and quality, best practices to protect herd health, pig residues treatment, available food resources in Cuba, Latin America and the Caribbean and the use of renewable energy in the sector.
Cuba will be represented at the event by the country's top 125 producers, who are to share their experiences in cattle, reforestation,agriculture and tobacco productions.
He added that the event constitutes an ideal space to share experiences and knowledge of better food production meeting the demands of both the population and the tourist.
Also national and international rodeo championships will be held in the framework of the fair,featuring professionals from the Cuban provinces of Villa Clara, Ciego de Avila and Sancti Spiritus and experts from Colombia, the US, Guatemala and Costa Rica.
