Beijing, May 17 (RHC)-- The president of the BioCubaFarma group Eduardo Martínez and Huang Lianshen, leader of the Guangxi Fukang Investment business group, have signed a memorandum of understanding at the Cuban Embassy in Beijing that will lead to the creation of joint ventures in the bio-pharmaceutical sector both in Cuba and in China.
In this context, the president of BioCubaFarma explained that the intention of the agreement is to produce new biotechnological drugs in both countries aimed at the treatment of diseases such as cancer, myocardial infarction, as well as neuro-degenerative diseases.
For its part, the leader of the group Guangxi Fukang Investment said that the entry of Cuban bio-pharmaceutical products in China will have a great economic and social impact in keeping with policies promoted by the government of China, both to raise the indexes and standards of health services, and in terms of the incentives for innovation in the bio-pharmaceutical area.
The Cuban Ambassador, Miguel Ángel Ramírez, other Cuban Embassy officials, and representatives of the Cuban biotechnology industry were also present at the meeting.
