Kingstown, June 1 (RHC)-- Specialists of the National General Staff of the Civil Defense of Cuba and the Cuban Environmental Agency successfully completed a work program with the Vincentian authorities in the framework of the "Project to strengthen early warning systems for disaster risk reduction, through knowledge and the transfer of methodological tools ", sponsored by the United Nations Development Program.
Specialists shared with their colleagues from the National Organization of Emergency Management, officials from the Ministry of Sustainable Development and other Vincentian state entities linked to the environment, the Cuban experience in identifying risks in the short, medium and long term, the design of possible measures, preparation of the ensuing contingency plans, and methodological tools to anticipate, cope with and minimize disaster risks.
The Cuban delegation also toured the communities most affected by different natural disasters in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Cuban Ambassador, Vilma Reyes Valdespino and the Second Secretary Víctor Simón, met with the Cuban specialists at the end of their busy work schedule in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
