Havana, February 8 (RHC)-- A Venezuelan Navy ship has docked in Havana with vehicles, construction materials and other resources to support the recovery efforts after the impact of a devastating tornado on January 27th.
In the Port of Havana, Cuban and Venezuelan authorities welcomed the donation, framed in the bonds of friendship that unite both governments and peoples.
The commander of the ship, Vladimir Maldonado, said that they arrived on the island at the orders of President Nicolás Maduro to assist the people of Havana after the storm left six dead, nearly 200 injured and severe damages to homes and services.
Commander Maldonado stressed that solidarity aid reach Havana at a time when Venezuela is suffering political and economic aggression led by the United States. For its part, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Antonio Carricarte, praised the gesture of the Bolivarian Revolution.
The official took the opportunity to reiterate the island's support for the Venezuelan government and people in the face of internal and external actions aimed at a change of regime in that South American country.
