Havana, February 20 (RHC)-- The revolutionary government reiterated its unwavering support for, and solidarity with, the Venezuelan people, their constitutional government led by President Nicolás Maduro Moros, the Bolivarian-Chavista Revolution and Venezuela’s civic-military union.
During a press conference Tuesday afternoon in Havana, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez called on all nations and peoples of the world to unite to defend peace.
Minister Rodríguez also urged the United Nations (UN) to support the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people and not allow, under any circumstances, foreign interference in the country’s internal affairs, or violations of international law.
“Unilateral and illegal measures, such as those being taken against the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, along with an aggressive media and political campaign, are generally the prelude to larger-scale actions by the U.S. government,” Rodríguez noted.
He then reiterated Cuba’s call for global action against Washington’s intervention in Latin America, “setting aside” he said, “any political or ideological differences.”
"Under the current circumstances,” said minister Bruno Rodríguez, “we can only be in favor of peace and against war."
