Havana, March 23 (RHC) – Cuba's achievements in education and how it has extended its multiple projects in this sector to the world, were a key topic discussed at the UN High Level Conference on South-South Cooperation.
Delegates reviewed Cuba's international cooperation, through initiatives such as the Yes I Can literacy method, which has taught over 10 million people to read and write across several continents, or its pedagogical work in other areas.
According to The Cuban Ministry of Education's Director of Early Childhood, Maria de los Angeles Gallo, some of the island's main=achievements include the Educate your Child program, which has been] applied successfully in countries such as Mexico, Guatemala, Venezuela, Brazil and Colombia through UNICEF.
The specialist also highlighted the importance of Cuba's participationin the Conference on South-South Cooperation, as it shows what a small country besieged for over 60 years by an economic, financial and international blockade imposed by the US, has been able to do for
cooperation and the welfare of the people.
