Havana, May 20 (RHC)— In the early hours of Sunday a vintage car ran off Havana’s famed Malecon seafront boulevard and plowed into a crowd of pedestrians, killing three people and injuring 21 others.
According to local media, two of those injured in Sunday’s crash are US citizens.
Among the Cubans who died was Ulises Canales, a seasoned journalist of Cuba’s Prensa Latina agency.
Authorities say the car was evidently unfit to circulate and that an investigation is underway to further look into the causes of this dramatic incident.
