Havana, Aug 20 (RHC) The demographic trend in Cuba points to population decline and aging, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics and Information (ONEI).
20.4 percent of Cubans are 60 years of age and older, the Granma newspaper said Tuesday, calling the process of demographic aging on the island accelerated.
He adds, based on data from the latest Population and Housing Census, that the incidence of single-person households where there is a significant presence of older adults is growing in the country.
In the 40 percent of the houses some older adult lives, and in the 32 percent of them reside up to two or three people of 60 years or more.
