United Nations, September 28 (RHC)—Cuban foreign minister, Bruno Rodriguez, held meetings Friday with United Nations top Executives.

On a Tweet, Rodriguez said that he met Secretary General Antonio Guterres in a cordial meeting where they agreed on the importance of strengthening multilateralism and respecting the purposes and principles enshrined in the UN Charter.  During the encounter, the minister also reiterated the importance of the struggle against the UN blockade against the Caribbeann island.

Likewise, the Cuban top diplomat met Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, President of 74th General Assembly. Rodriguez congratulated him on his election and reaffirmed Cuba's commitment to the strengthening of the General Assembly, the defense of international peace and security, and the development of the peoples of the world.

Meanwhile, the Cuban foreign minister held an encounter with Cubans living in United States at the Cuban Mission to the UN.

Rodriguez said that the meeting was an example of the unstoppable process of strengthening the island’s  ties with its nationals abroad.

“We exchanged about how the aggressive escalation of the U.S. government against the Island harms inter-family ties and the rights of Cubans in every corner of the planet,” he worte on Twitter.

And he added that those who today dominate the agenda of the U.S. government towards Cuba try to silence or annul the opinions of many within U.S. who oppose the blockade and who favor a respectful relationship between the two countries, including the vast majority of Cuban citizens.
