Havana, October 27 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez congratulated former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who turned 74 on Sunday.
Through his official Twitter account, the dignitary expressed his warm congratulations and admiration to the leader of the Workers Party on behalf of the Cuban people and government.
"You can always count on Cuba's unwavering support in the just cause you defend," the Cuban head of state said in his message on the social media network.
Lula is being unjustly imprisoned, victim of biased justice at the service of political interests.
After receiving a 12-year and one-month sentence imposed by the Federal Regional Court of the fourth region for alleged acts of corruption, the Brazilian leader has been imprisoned since April 7, 2018.
