Beijing, October 27 (RHC)-- China and Cuba signed cooperation agreements to create an artificial intelligence center on the island and a center for the teaching of Spanish, diplomatic sources reported Sunday.
The agreements contemplate collaboration in these fields between the universities of International Studies of the Chinese province of Hebei, and the Cuban universities of Camagüey and Las Villas.
The signing took place at the end of the official visit made to the Asian country by the Cuban Minister of Higher Education, José Ramón Saborido.
The minister fulfilled a tight agenda that included the renewal in Beijing of an exchange agreement in the sector for the period 2018-2022, meetings with the Chinese Minister of Education, Chen Baosheng, the vice-governor of Hebei, Ge Haijiao, and the mayor of Shijiazhuang, Deng Peiran.
During the visit, Saborido was accredited as a visiting professor at Hebei University of International Studies.
The minister toured Tsinghua University, Jiaotong University, Post and Telecommunications University, Beijing Institute of Technology, as well as Confucius University, with which there are historical relations of cooperation and friendship.
