Scientists encouraged to engage the food industry

Havana, February 26 (RHC)-- Cuba's Minister of Science, Technology and the Environment, Elba Rosa Pérez, stressed on Tuesday the importance of combining the results of research centers with the food industry to improve the quality of life of the population.

Speaking on the opening day of the workshop More production from the food industry with the application of science, held in Cojímar, Pérez recalled that more than 200 research projects had been launched the previous year.

She said that this year they are working on more than 100 research projects and 106 innovation plans.

The minister said that potential must be identified and productive focuses selected with the capacity to evaluate the results of science, which contribute to the development of the food industry.
