Havana, February 28 (RHC)--The President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, held a cordial telephone conversation with the President and Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping.
Diaz-Canel ratified to the Chinese leader the unwavering support and solidarity of the Cuban people, Party and government with that sister country in the battle to prevent and control the epidemic outbreak of the coronavirus.
The Cuban leader conveyed his confidence in the capacity of the Chinese authorities to overcome adversity, under the leadership of the Communist Party and with the unity and firmness of the people and their leaders.
He also said that the help Cuba can offer is modest. Still, it is in line with the vocation of solidarity of our people and the special feelings that unite us.
"Both countries have always been together and will continue to be together, especially in difficult times, supporting and cooperating," the Cuban president said.
For his part, President Xi Jinping said that the sending of messages of solidarity from the beginning of the epidemic by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, and President Diaz-Canel, who also visited the Chinese embassy to express his support, are a reflection of the traditional friendship between both nations.
He also stressed that China and Cuba are good friends, comrades, and sister nations.
Both sides also agreed on the importance of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and China this year.
