Havana, April 25 (RHC)-- Ana Teresita Gonzalez, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, on behalf of the Cuban people and government, expressed appreciation for the donation by China of medical supplies to confront the new coronavirus pandemic.
In an exchange at the Foreign Ministry's headquarters with the Asian nation's ambassador in Havana, Chen Xi, the two diplomats discussed the close ties of cooperation, aid and collaboration that exist between the two countries.
"I had another meeting with the Ambassador of #China in #Cuba, comrade Chen Xi. We exchanged on the cooperation between both countries for the confrontation to #COVID19.
"I thanked him, once again, for the donations to our country from the Chinese government and companies for this battle," Gonzalez wrote in her official Twitter account.
On Friday, a plane carrying medical supplies purchased in China arrived in Havana, with the aim of strengthening the capacities of the Cuban health system in the face of the confrontation with COVID-19.
The aircraft was loaded with items such as masks, protective suits, diagnostic kits and also sample transport devices, the latter indispensable from the point of view of clinical management of the disease.
