Havana, May 19 (RHC)-- On Tuesday afternoon, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 of the Richter Scale was felt in western Cuba. The tremor was located 1 km north of Guane, in province of Pinar del Río.
According to reports from the National Seismological Service station network and several users on the social network Facebook, a perceptible earthquake was registered in the city of Pinar del Río.
The National Center of Seismological Research said that at 3:49 p.m. this Tuesday, an earthquake reported as perceptible was registered, located in the coordinates 22.26 degrees north latitude and -84.08 degrees west longitude, at a depth of 5 kilometers.
So far, perceptibility reports have been received from the cities of Pinar del Río, Consolación del Sur and Entroque de Herradura, in the province of Pinar del Río. There were also reports of the tremor being felt in Havana, located some 160 kilometers to the east. No material damage or human casulties were reported.
