Havana, May 7 (RHC) – Directives of Cubana de Aviacion airlines and of Air France signed a memo of understanding in Havana expressing their interest in strengthening commercial relations between their two companies.

Cubana airlines’ executive Ana Margarita Godoy said that the document is part of a process aimed at bringing mutual benefits, which started April 10 with the signing of a Special Tariff Accord allowing the two companies to offer passengers a larger number of options at the destinies of their interest along the routes covered by the airline companies.

The memorandum looks at larger collaboration by favoring connections between France and Cuba, and joint participation in mid and long-term development of destinations of large demand, such as the Caribbean islands, PL news agency reported.

Air France’s vice-president for Latin America and the Caribbean Zoran Jelkic said that the document could be the start of a long and fruitful collaboration between the two companies.

Air France maintains 14 weekly flights to Havana, a figure that could increase with the recent accords.
