Beijing, August 19 (RHC)-- The Cuban ambassador in Beijing, Carlos Miguel Pereira, was received at the headquarters of the Center for Studies on China and Globalization (CCG) by its president, Wang Huiyao, who thanked him for the courtesy of a visit by a diplomat from a friendly country.

Huiyao stressed that the meeting reinforces the links between the institution and the Cuban embassy, while updating the diplomat on the main events and initiatives that the GCC has been leading in the context of COVID-19.

In a friendly atmosphere, Pereira highlighted the high level of relations between both countries, and underscored the importance of this year, when the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and China is being celebrated.  He invited Huiyao to participate in the activities planned to celebrate that significant date, next September.

Pereira thanked the Asian giant for its firm position in support of the Cuban people in the face of the Trump administration's aggressive policy and the tightening of the U.S. blockade.

Both sides agreed on the potential of the current epidemiological context to continue strengthening exchanges and the support of this center to medical cooperation, promotion of health tourism and production and marketing of medicines.
