Ciego de Avila, Cuba, November 12(RHC)--Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero urged Ciego de Avila province to strictly comply with biosecurity protocols in tourist facilities to avoid a possible rebound of the Covid-19.

Speaking at a meeting of the Provincial Defense Council in Ciego de Avila, Marrero called to be more demanding with travelers arriving at the Jardines del Rey destination regarding safety and protection measures.

He acknowledged the work carried out in the territory regarding the control of the SARS Cov-2 coronavirus,  in the reduction of those infected, and the decrease of the incidence rate per 100 thousand inhabitants in the last 15 days.

For this reason, it was authorized a  change of stage, from the limited native transmission to phase II for the city of Ciego de Avila and the rest of the municipalities to phase III, a proposal that will be evaluated by the Temporary Working Group of the Government.

Marrero was also interested in recovery from the effects caused by heavy rains that left the tropical storm Eta on its way through the territory.

The agricultural sector's damage was primarily on the banana crop, with damages to some 800 hectares, and on plantations of cassava, sweet potato, pumpkin, and corn, among other damages.
