Cuban president and Venezuelan vice president meet in Havana

Havana, March 9 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez held a fraternal meeting in Havana on Tuesday, where they discussed matters of bilateral and multilateral interest.

During the exchange, the Cuban leader ratified the solidarity commitment of our country with the South American nation, in addition to the will to continue improving bilateral cooperation.  Likewise, Diaz-Canel strongly rejected the coercive and unilateral measures of the United States and its allies that harm the Bolivarian Republic.

For her part, the Venezuelan leader, who heads her country's delegation to the XXI Venezuela-Cuba Intergovernmental Commission, reaffirmed the condemnation of the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade that Washington has maintained for almost six decades against the island.

Díaz-Canel and Rodríguez also discussed bilateral and multilateral issues, such as the progress of cooperation ties and the current regional and international political situation, marked by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
