Cuba and Spain review prospects for developing ties

Havana, June 22 (RHC) Representatives of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation reviewed Monday in Havana the prospects for developing areas of mutual interest.

According to a press release, the general director of Bilateral Affairs of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Emilio Lozada, and the head for Ibero-America of the Spanish Ministry, Rafael Garranzo, agreed on the positive state of ties between the two countries.

The representatives held official talks within the framework of the Political Consultation Mechanism signed between the two foreign ministries, according to the Cubaminrex portal.

Both delegations reviewed the international political situation, cooperation for development. They ratified the interest in continuing to develop economic, commercial, financial, and cooperation ties.

e for its support to the resolution Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government against the Caribbean nation, which is about to be voted at the United Nations General Assembly.

The European delegation was also made up of Ángel Martín, Spanish ambassador in Havana, and Carlos Blasco Bernáldez, deputy director-general for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean of the Spanish Foreign Ministry.

Nelson Tamayo, deputy director for Europe and Canada of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also participated on the Cuban side.
