Josefina Vidal
Havana, October 26 (RHC)-- Diplomat Josefina Vidal, a Cuban Communist Party's Central Committee member, was appointed on Tuesday as deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, reported Cubaminrex portal.
A graduate in International Political Relations, Vidal was Cuba's ambassador to Canada at her appointment. She has held several responsibilities in Cuba's Foreign Service.
As part of her career, the official presided over the first and second round of Cuba-U.S. talks, which contributed to re-establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, announced on December 17, 2014.
Among other functions, she served as the first secretary in the Cuban Interests Section in Washington and as head of the U.S. desk of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
