Havana, January 3 (RHC)-- With a representation of young people and children, the Caravan of Freedom set out again on its course this January 2 on the 63rd anniversary of the historical journey from Santiago de Cuba to Havana, the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, and the rebels made in 1959, after the Triumph of the Revolution.

Pioneers, high school and university students, outstanding young people, teachers, doctors, artists, athletes, scientists, internationalists, peasants, and combatants of the FAR and the MININT, as genuine representatives of the new generations, will reedit the historic event.

It is a source of pride for the new generation to reenact the historic journey as traditionally had been done until 2020, before the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, stressed Nislay Molina Nápoles, member of the National Bureau of the UJC.

Molina Nápoles highlighted the importance of adopting in all territories the precise hygienic-sanitary measures to avoid complications associated with the new coronavirus.

Together with the new generations, she said that combatants and witnesses of the event will also participate in the commemorative acts that will take place along the entire route, from Santiago de Cuba to the capital's Ciudad Escolar Libertad.

"The journey constitutes a fervent reverence of gratitude and love on the part of the new generations towards those who gave us the revolutionary triumph," she said.
