Cuban journalist Julio Pérez Muñoz, who worked for many years at Radio Havana Cuba, died Tuesday of cancer at the age of 78.
Havana, February 2 (RHC)-- Outstanding Cuban journalist Julio Pérez Muñoz, who worked for many years at Radio Havana Cuba, died Tuesday of cancer at the age of 78.
At this radio station, he held various positions: head of the Central Newsroom, head of the Reporters and English departments and Deputy General Director.
During his long professional career, he also worked at Trabajadores newspaper, the Cuban News Agency and Radio Pogreso, of which he was director.
Among the numerous awards he received were the Félix Elmusa medal, the Maestro de Radialistas distinction and the Radio Microphone Award.
Until a few days before his death, he worked as editor of the website of Radio Havana Cuba in Spanish.
