Havana, February 24 (RHC)-- With President Miguel Diaz-Canel leading the delegation, a government visit to the eastern province of Guantanamo began Thursday, the third of its kind since 2018.
The country's top leadership will evaluate the progress of the leading programs and policies promoted by the government in that territory.
By the Empresa Agroindustrial "Argeo Martínez", in Manuel Tames's municipality, began the Head of State the tour, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Alejandro Gil, authorities of AZCUBA and the province.
He also visited the Guaso water treatment plant, which today supplies drinking water to 70% of the municipality of Guantánamo.
The plant underwent a comprehensive rehabilitation that made it possible to automate processes and increase its purifying capacity.
"We are going to resist but creatively, said President Diaz-Canel to residents of the Guaso Community in the municipality of Manuel Tames, to whom he greeted and explained details of the government's visit to Guantánamo.
The presidency announced on Twitter that the visit will conclude on Friday.
