Havana, May 26 (RHC)-- President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez visited the Cuba 2.0 Food Fair on its closing day on Thursday.
Al The Pabexbo exhibit hall, he toured several stands belonging to domestic and foreign companies. He talked with managers and workers, noted innovations and inventions, and was interested in the progress of new models of economic management in the country.
Also, on this last day, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz exchanged with representatives of several projects dedicated to food production.
The meeting provided a suitable scenario to establish strategic agreements in the development and production of the food industry to promote exports and import substitution.
More than a hundred domestic and foreign companies from 15 countries attended the event, which was sponsored by the Ministry of Food Industry and the Fira de Barcelona.
The 3-day event included launching new products, a round of negotiations by the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, and presentations of equipment and Cuban entities to promote their services.
The fair included a symposium with keynote lectures by specialists on topics related to nutrition, the procurement of domestic raw materials, production chains, and management models.
Since the last edition in 2018, the fair has been a space where domestic and foreign companies could have more significant business opportunities to cooperate and generate added value to offer to the rest of the world.
