Havana, September 14 (RHC)--Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla sent condolences to the people and government of Papua New Guinea following the 7.6-magnitude earthquake that struck that sister country.
On Twitter, the Foreign Minister regretted the loss of human lives and material damage caused by last Sunday's quake, and ratified Cuba's solidarity.
Government sources in Papua New Guinea reported seven dead and several injured, which will surely increase as search efforts continue, reported Prensa Latina.
The U.S. Geological Service stated that the earthquake that hit this territory, located in the southwest region of the Pacific, on September 11, had a depth of 116 kilometers.
