The inauguration of the IV International Convention 'Cuba-Health 2022', took place  at the Havana Convention Palace

 

Havana, Oct 18 (RHC) The inauguration of the IV International Convention 'Cuba-Health 2022', took place on Monday at the Havana Convention Palace, with the presence of the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel.

 

Also present at the event were Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz; Dr. Carissa Etienne, director of the Pan American Health Organization; Jorge Luis Broche Lorenzo, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, deputy prime minister.

 

In the context of the Convention, Dr. José Ángel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health, inaugurated the IV Exhibition of the National Health System, which shows the main indicators and results of the last years.

 

'Cuba-Health 2022' is sponsored by prestigious national and international organizations, and until October 21, it will allow debate on global and regional health and the experience of the Caribbean Island.

 

Under the slogan "Universal Health, as part of the 2030 Health Agenda, in a post-COVID-19 context", this scientific forum will deal with the current and future challenges of Public Health and the response of countries and international organizations to the needs faced by the world, as a result of the disease caused by SARS-Cov-2.

 

The impact of climate change on health, the safety and quality of medical care, emerging and re-emerging diseases, the organization and operation of health systems to be more efficient and sustainable, and new forms of international cooperation, research and innovation, and medical education will also be discussed.

 

Public policies, strategies, organizations, and economic bases that support health activity will be among the topics to be analyzed at the important meeting, as well as the assessment of the new processes to renew primary care and their implications for health services. (Source: ACN)
