Havana, Oct 21 (RHC) On Friday Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel checked the recovery work in the area devastated by a fire on August 5th at the Supertanker Base in the industrial zone of the city of Matanzas.
The President toured the affected area where he verified that the reconstruction work is over 60 percent complete and that the four affected tanks have already been demolished.
The main local authorities informed him that electric service and communications are being re-established in the damaged area.
Diaz-Canel called to speed up the hydraulic infrastructure and the demolition of targets and buildings.
As a result of this incident, 17 people died (Source: Presidency of Cuba).
