Ho Chi Minh City advocates cooperation with Cuba

Nguyen Ho Hai, deputy secretary of the Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, met with Homero Acosta Álvarez, secretary of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) and of the Council of State of Cuba.

Havana, Nov 14 (RHC) Vietnamese press media highlighted the interest of Ho Chi Minh City in promoting cooperation with Cuba in the health and education sectors.

 

The deputy secretary of the Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in that southern city, Nguyen Ho Hai, said that local authorities hope that the largest island of the Antilles will promote collaboration in these areas and strengthen friendly exchanges between students and young people from both sides.

 

The party leader received the secretary of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) and of the Council of State of Cuba, Homero Acosta Álvarez, who concluded a five-day working visit to the Indochinese nation.

 

The Voice of Vietnam points out that at the meeting, Ho Hai stated that Ho Chi Minh City will do everything possible to contribute to the development of a special traditional relationship, solidarity, trust, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

 

He also asked the visitor that the ANPP and the Council of State of the island present localities with similar conditions to cooperate in the near future.

 

For his part, Acosta Álvarez expressed gratitude for the unwavering assistance and support provided to his country by Vietnam in difficult times and wished to gain experience in legislative activities and policy formulation.

 

He stated that Cuba will not only provide scholarships to Vietnamese students but will help Vietnam and that southern city in particular, in the area of medical care.

 

The also member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba also confirmed that, despite the many difficulties and challenges it currently faces, the Caribbean nation never abandons its ideals and remains firm on the path of national construction and development.
