Cuba ratifies commitment to International Humanitarian Law

Havana, Nov 16 (RHC) Cuba's ambassador and permanent representative to the Geneva-based organizations, Juan Antonio Quintanilla highlighted on Wednesday our country's collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), as part of its commitment to International Humanitarian Law.

In a meeting with the president of that organization, Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, the Cuban diplomat emphasized the willingness of the Antillean nation to continue supporting the International Committee of the Red Cross in its work, which has contributed to alleviate the suffering of millions of people around the world.

The day before, in Havana, the VIII edition of the High-Level Political Dialogues between Cuba and the International Committee of the Red Cross began with the participation of authorities from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and regional representatives of the international organization.

The Cuban Foreign Ministry reports that the event will address issues related to international humanitarian law, the universalization of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and the successful outcome of its First Meeting of States Parties, and operations in cyberspace.
