Cuban Deputy prime minister, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz and Head of the Civil House of the Republic of Angola, H.E. Mr. Adão Correia de Almeida

Luanda, Dec 9 (RHC) On his first day of visit to Angola, Cuban Deputy prime minister, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, held a meeting with the minister of State and head of the Civil House of the Republic of Angola, H.E. Mr. Adão Correia de Almeida.

As part of the visit of the Antillean leader to the African nation to represent Cuba at the 10th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific Organization (OACPS), the meeting gave continuity to the issues addressed by Mr. Correia de Almeida during his visit to the island earlier this year.

The exchange allowed them to assess the excellent state of bilateral relations, including the various cooperation projects and their prospects, as part of the preparation of the XV Cuba-Angola Intergovernmental Commission, as well as matters related to the development of the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific Organization and an update on the situation in Cuba.

Also, during the day, the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cameroon, H.E. Mr. Mbella Mbella, with whom he discussed issues that will help expand ties between the two nations. During the fraternal meeting, they also exchanged views on the priorities of the OACPS countries in the current complex international situation.

The Cuban Deputy Prime Minister also exchanged on Thursday with the Secretary General of the organization, Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti, on the problems faced today by that group of countries.

According to reports, elements such as climate change, the food, and energy crises, and the unfair terms of international trade were discussed.

Likewise, the support of that organization and its member states was also noted in the face of the blockade imposed by the United States of America on Cuba.

For its part, Cuba ratified the commitment acquired with that group in defense of the interests of the nations of the South, for which it actively participates in the work of this event.

During the day, Cabrisas Ruiz exchanged on bilateral issues and matters on the international agenda with the Deputy Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Mr. Sato Kilman, as well as with the Foreign Ministers of Sao Tome Mr. Alberto Nieto Pereira and Principe and Solomon Islands Mr. Jeremiah Manele.
