Havana, Dec 11 (RHC) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz attends the Parliamentary Commission on Attention to Services held at the Havana Convention Palace.

As a prelude to the Tenth Ordinary Session of the Ninth Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power, the deputies are analyzing the situation of passenger transportation in the country.

Among the interventions, the dissatisfaction of the population with the service was raised, mainly due to long waits, mistreatment, poor hygiene of some means of transportation, and the high prices of private providers.

It was reiterated that work is being done to face the spare parts shortage, mainly caused by the economic, commercial, and financial blockade of the United States which impacts the economy and especially this sector.

The Minister of Transportation, Eduardo Rodríguez, explained that the priorities for next year are the organizational measures for the use of resources and to recover the availability of freely convertible currency to stop the deterioration and begin to gradually recover the transportation sector.

The regulation of prices between state and private carriers and the work with human resources and cadres, who define what happens in the sector, are other lines of work.

During the commission's work, the results of the fight against crime, illegalities, social indiscipline, and corruption in the retail trade will also be discussed.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Yudi Rodríguez Hernández, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Party, and Juan Carlos García Granda, Minister of Tourism.

This Sunday, the deputies will also evaluate the performance of their commissions during the five years of this IX legislature, in which they approved some 30 laws.
