Cuban President at the end of the 10th session of the Parliament

Havana, Dec 14 (RHC) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel highlighted Wednesday the country's progress in strengthening relations with other countries in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

The president pointed out that in the region, governments committed to social justice and sovereignty have emerged, while the right-wing wants to stop their progress.

He added that in this context, Cuba reiterated its support and solidarity with Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Bolivia, which had to face destabilizing attempts.

The president highlighted the progress in relations with Mexico and thanked them for their gestures of solidarity in the face of the disasters that hit Cuba.

Díaz-Canel also praised the willingness to move forward in areas of common interest with Argentina and prized the resumption of peace talks between the Colombian government and the National Liberation Army.

The Head of State welcomed the political processes taking place in Colombia and Honduras and thanked the Caribbean Community for its support, whose ties were strengthened on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the first four countries of that area and Havana.
