Cuba thanks messages for the triumph of the Revolution

On January 1, 1959, the Rebel Army defeated Fulgencio Batista's tyranny, thus achieving revolutionary triumph and national liberation.

Havana, Jan 2 (RHC) Cuban authorities thanked on Monday the messages of solidarity received from various parts of the world for the 64th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel said on Twitter that his country is not alone, highlighting the messages received from more than 50 heads of state and government, as well as the greetings through social networks and public events and demonstrations held around the world to celebrate the anniversary.

Manuel Marrero, Cuba's prime minister, also thanked the congratulations from various parts of the world and assured that the country will continue to move forward with firm steps and be always sure of victory.

The Caribbean nation's foreign minister, Bruno Rodríguez, said on Twitter that these demonstrations of solidarity are a recognition of the Cuban people's example of dignity and their unbending decision to resist, fight and win.

More than 50 state leaders, governments, and political and social organizations sent messages to Cuban authorities expressing their support for strengthening bilateral relations.

According to a Granma newspaper, the messages came from China, Egypt, France, Italy, Vietnam, Vatican City, Spain, Mexico, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Morocco, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Turkey.

Communications were also sent by leaders from Russia, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Switzerland, Greece, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, The United Arab Emirates, Australia, Croatia, Sri Lanka, Palestine, and Panama.
