French Association will continue solidarity actions with Cuba

Paris, Jan 5 (RHC) The Cuba Si France association announced today new solidarity actions with the island in 2023 to support it in the fight against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade and its extraterritorial impact.

Donations, activities, and fundraising will be part of the organization’s agenda with more than three decades of accompaniment to the Cuban Revolution.

At the beginning of the year, Cuba Si France will deliver 2,000 euros to MediCuba-Suiza, an entity recognized for supporting the Antillean nation's health system.

During 2023 we will be part of a great national project of material solidarity with the island and its people, the details of which we will shortly report, said the association chaired by Charly Bouhana.

According to the French organization, this year its honorary president, the deputy, and communist leader André Chassaigne will work on a book on Cuba, and the profits from it will be devoted entirely to supporting the attacked Caribbean country.

Regarding Chassaigne, Cuba Si France congratulated him on his election as leader of the France-Cuba Friendship group in the National Assembly.

Regarding some of the actions carried out last year, he highlighted the collection of 18 thousand euros in response to tragedies suffered by the largest of the Antilles, in particular the explosion at the Hotel Saratoga in Havana and the devastating passage through the west of the hurricane Ian.

The efforts made to send that money to Cuba once again demonstrated the impact of the extraterritoriality of the US blockade in Europe and France, as well as the fear of banks to participate in transactions related to the island for fear of sanctions from Washington, they denounced.

The French association greeted the 64th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution through Prensa Latina and ratified its condemnation of the siege imposed by the United States for more than six decades.

Likewise, he recognized the resistance of the small country to the attacks and a blockade that he considered a policy with nameless cruelty. (Source: PL)
