Havana, Jan 13 (RHC) The Minister of State for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Reem Al Hashemi, presented the outgoing Cuban ambassador, Roberto Blanco, with the National Order of Independence.
The diplomat thanked the warmth with which he was received by the Emirati authorities since his arrival, as well as his willingness to work together to promote ties between the two countries in all spheres.
The minister congratulated Blanco for the constant work carried out pointing out, his contribution to the development of bilateral relations.
The Cuban diplomatic headquarters in this country opened in February 2019, and since then both governments have strengthened relations of cooperation and aid, which translated into the signing of several agreements in the culture and health sector.
In June 2020, the UAE sent a donation consisting of eight metric tons of medical supplies to the Caribbean island to contribute to the country’s efforts to deal with Covid-19.
Last November, in the framework of the International Fair of Havana, the Minister of Economy of this nation, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, considered that there are many opportunities for trade between the two countries. (Prensa Latina)
